Description
Speaker: Marty Gilbert, NSENG Founder/CEO, Job Search Coach & professional writer
Before you start to actively pursue any job opportunities, it’s critical that you are putting your best foot forward. And that means your resume, your LinkedIn profile and your cover letters need to be stellar. Those three elements create the first impression that recruiters and hiring managers develop about you, and if you haven’t impressed them in very short order, your chances of getting an interview will be severely diminished. This is particularly true when you take into account that each advertised job is receiving 100-300 resumes from other candidates. Each of these items serve different purposes but they absolutely complement one another and increase your chances for consideration.
During this workshop, you will be provided with very practical advice and examples of how to present yourself in the best light via your resume, LinkedIn profile and cover letters. The “dos and don’ts” of each will be addressed, along with specific tips on how to capture greater interest with those who come across your background. This workshop will be led by awarding-winning writer and job search coach, Marty Gilbert. Here are some of the topics that will be covered:
Resumes
- The goals of an effective resume
- 10 keys to a strong resume
- Examples of what is and isn’t effective
- Resume critiques
- How to create an Applicant Tracking System (ATS)-compliant resume
LinkedIn Profiles
- The goals of an effective LinkedIn profile
- 10 keys to a strong LinkedIn profile
- Good profile examples
