Meetings

Catherine-JohnsOur events consistent of meetings, webinars and workshops. The meetings are held at two different locations from 6:15-8:30pm at the Glenview Public Library (1930 Glenview Rd) and in Oak Brook at McDonald’s Hamburger University (2715 Jorie Blvd)… the Oak Brook meetings will discontinue after the June 11th meeting.  There are typically 50-120 attendees at each meeting. The meeting agenda is typically:

  • 6:15-6:30   Open networking
  • 6:30-6:45   Meeting announcements
  • 6:45-7:35   Keynote presentation topic
  • 7:35-8:30   Small group networking

During the small group networking each members get an opportunity to their their background,, what they’re looking for and target companies of interest to them. This often leads to warm introductions into companies that you can’t get traction with on your own. Please bring 20 copies of your handbill or resume to these sessions. 

The webinars are online sessions that feature keynote presenters who are addressing job search topics that can help individuals to be much more effective in a breadth of tactics and strategies to accelerate their efforts. The workshops are small group in-person sessions that include a presentation along with hands-on exercises and group discussions. These are typically 3 hours in length.

There are no upfront membership fees to join NSENG– just pay $20 at the door for each meeting that you attend.

  • Wed May 29, 6:15-8:30pm at the Glenview Library–  BILL BURNETT (author of The Peak Interview) presents “New Psychological Insights into Winning the Interview and Getting the Job” plus a round of networking.
  • Mon June 3, 6:00-9:00pm– NSENG SUMMER PARTY at Hackney’s on Lake, 1514 E Lake St in Glenview.
  • Mon June 10, 6:15-8:30pm at the Glenview Library– “ABSOLUTELY ABBY” KOHUT (talent recruiter & coach) presents “How to Overcome Being Viewed as Over-Qualified” plus a round of networking.
  • Tue June 11, 6:15-8:30pm at the old McDonald’s Hamburger Univ in Oak Brook (2715 Jorie Blvd)– “ABSOLUTELY ABBY” KOHUT (talent recruiter & coach) presents “How to Overcome Being Viewed as Over-Qualified” plus a round of networking. This will be the last meeting in Oak Brook.
