Description

THIS APPROACH IS HOW YOU SHORTEN YOUR JOB SEARCH. Many job seekers take a passive approach to their job search that invariably includes several hours a day sitting behind their computer answering online ads which often doesn’t create a lot of positive progress, particularly when you are 1 of 150 respondents to an ad. That’s why an effective job search requires a what the hell do you have to lose attitude that is a proactive marketing approach that creates more interest, more activity and more interviews. This also includes a bold outbound marketing campaign where you are packaging your background, communicating your value, constantly growing your target company list, seeding social networks to create greater awareness for your skills and engaging your audience. This small group workshop will focus on 13 “what the hell” moves you can take right now to stand out from the crowd of numerous qualified candidates by changing your attitude, your mode of job search behavior and implementing a direct marketing approach that gets you noticed. Many NSENG members have applied these principals and they each attribute their interviews and job offers to the “What the Hell Approach”– Marty received a registered trademark for from the US Patent & Trademark Office for his “What the Hell Approach”.

During this session, MARTY GILBERT, award-winning writer, job search coach and founder of NSENG, will present his perspectives and actions you can take immediately. Some of his topics include:

  • Where many job seekers fail in their search and why
  • The “what the hell approach” and how it works
  • 13 “what the hell” moves that can significantly accelerate your job search
  • How to create greater value from your network
  • Accessing the “hidden job market”
  • How to turn your search into a “new product launch”
  • How to get interviews when you’ve been rejected by the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • How LinkedIn can help you get around gatekeepers
  • Driving more attention to your background and connecting with key influencers who don’t know you
  • How to break down a job description and write effective cover letters
  • The power of being bold when combining social media with proactive networking

This live session will get recorded so even if you can’t attend the live event, you’ll still get access to the recording the next day. And as an added bonus, registrants will receive access to a 40-minute webinar recording on “How to Build a Target Company List & Find Key Influencers”.
